AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING TRAFFIC CONTRaL; .AMENDING
SECTLaNS 5.010, 5.225, AND 5.270 OF THE EUGENE CODE,
1971; .
TI3E CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 5.010 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is hereby
amended by adding in alphabetical ordex therein the fallowing:
5.010 Definitions.
Exit. A continuous and unobstructed means of
egress to a public way, .including, but not limited
to, intervening doors, doorways, corridors, exterior
balconys, ramps, stairways, smoke--proof enclosures,
horizontal exits, exit passageways, exit courts and
yards.
Public way. Any parcel of land unobstructed
from the ground to the sky, mare than ten feet in
width, which is appropriated to free passage of the
general public.
Section 2. Subsection ~.1~ of Section 5.225 of the Eugene Code,
1971, is hereby amended by adding a new subsection ~.j} thereto, to
read and provide:
5.225 Prohibited Parking and Standing; Exceptions.

~.j 7. A vehicle in the public way in front of or
blocking an exit from a building, provided the exit
is conspicuously marked and parking in front of or
blocking the exit is prohibited.
Section 3. Section 5.270 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is hereby
amended by adding new subsections ~3~ and ~4} thereto, to read and
provide:
5.270 Use of ~,,,l,ty,,,,Pro~erty.
~.3} The authorization grated under this section shall

be of a type prescribed by the ci,ty~ and shall be displayed
as provided in subsection ~4} of this section so as to be
visible and readable from outside the vehic~,e.
~_4~ The city shall issue a transparent plastic pocket
to be placed in the lower left portion of the windshield on the
driver's side of the vehicle, which shall be used exclusively
to hold and display the permit issued under this section.
