HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 18788ORDINANCE N0, 1S7S$ AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING FUNCTIONS AND NlEMBERSHIF OF THE JOINT HOUSING COMMITTEE; .AMENDING SECTIONS 2.252 AND 2.254 OF THE EUGENE CODE, 1971; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subsection {j} of Section 2.252 of the Eugene Cade, 1971, is hereby amended to read and provide: 2.252 Joint Housin. Committee - Functions. {j ~ Developing an annual worl~ plan reflecting the goals, objectives, and programs of the joint housing committee; and Section 2, Section 2.252 of the Eugene Cade, 1971, is hereby amended by adding a new subsection {.k~ thereto, to read and provide: 2.252 Joint Housin Committee - Functions, ~k~ Such other activities not in conflict with adopted policies, as may be appropriate ,for implemen- tation and furtherance of the city's housing program. Section 3 . Subsection {.l ~ { c ~ of Section 2.2 54 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is hereby amended to read and provide: 2.254 Joint Housin Committee ~- Membership. {1} {c} One member from a recognized neighborhood organization appointed by the council; and Section 4 . Subsection { 1 ~ of Section 2 , 2 54 of the Eugene Code , 1971, is hereby amended by adding a new subsection {d~ thereto, to read and provide: 2.254 Joint Housin Committee - Membershi . {1} {d} Four members from the public, interviewed and appointed by the council. Ordinance ~- 1 18788 Section 5. Subsection ~.3} of ~ecti,on 2.254 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is hereby amended to read and provide: 2.254 Joint Ho~usin~ Committee -- Membershi ~.3} In selecting public members of the committee, the council shall seed persons with a demonstrated concern and know- ledge about housing, such as rea~,tors, lenders, developers, ten- ants of law-income housing developments, investors, architects, designers, etc. Section 6. The previsions contwined herein concern the public welfare and, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
