AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING PROHIBITED SIGNS; AMEND-
ING SECTION 8.690 QF THE EUGENE CQDE, 1971; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN A5 FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section ,8.690 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is hereby
amended by adding a new subsection fie} thereto; relettering the pre-
sent subsections fie} , ~.f } , ~_g} and ~h~ to ~_f ~ , fig} , ~h} and ~i} res-
pectively; amending and relettexing the present subsect~,on ~i} to
~j}; and adding a new subsection ~k} thereto, to read and provide:
8.690 Prohibited Signs. No sign shall be constructed, erected
or maintained.
Vie} Which advertises or publicizes an activity,
business, product or service not conducted by the owner
or lessee of a motor vehicle or recreational vehicle
upon which such signs are maintained.
~j} which is written upon, te~porarily or perman-~
ently placed upon or attached to a motor vehicle, mobile
home or recreational vehicle which advertises the price
of any product or service, indicates hours of business
or service,. or indicates that a business is open or closed.
~:~} As used %n this section, the term motor vehi-
cle is defined as provided in section 5.010 of this code,
and the term mobile home and recreational vehicle are
defined as provided in section 9.254 of this code.
Section 2. That the matters contained herein concern the public
welfare and safety and therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to
exist, and this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
