AN ORDINANCE CQNCER~'TNG THE RE'~ENTION OF CITY
RECORDS; REPEALING ORDZNA~CE No. 12651; AND DE-
CLARING AN EMERGENCY.
THE CITY of EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FoLLOwS:
Section 1. Subsection ~1~ of Section 2.425 of the Eugene Code,
191 provides that the period of time that City records are required
to be maintained shall be~.establshed by Resolution of the Council
and, therefore, ordinance No. 12651 passed by the Council on May 14,
1962 and approved by the Mayor on Maur 15, 1962, which sets forth
retention periods for City records and the procedures to be followed
is hereby repealed.
Section 2. Matters relating to the retention and destruction
of City records are of concern to all the citizens of the City, and
in order to insure the orderly implementation of a time schedule
therefor and avoid any potential conflicts, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall become effective immedi-
ately upon its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
