HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 18925ORDINANCE NO. 18925 AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING ZONING REGULATIONS; AMENDING SECTION 9.676 OF TEE EUGENE CODE, 1971; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subparagraphs ~.b } and ~.c ~ of Section 9.6 7 6 of the Eugene Code, 1971, are hereby amended to read and provide: 9.676 ~b~ There is a public need for a change of the kind in question. It must be demonstrated that: 1, Land a~.ready available in the zoning classification proposed is unable to be served by adequate public facilities and services, or Z. what land is available and served is inadequate or improperly zoned to satisfy the current need for commercial, industrial, or in- stitutivnal uses, or for an affordable and desir- able housing inventary~ as the case may be. ~_c~ The location of the proposed change: 1. Can be adequately served through the orderly extension of public facilities and ser- vices, and ~. Is consistent with the principle of compact and sequential urban growth. Section 2. That the provisions contained herein concern the public welfare, and in artier to insure the orderly implementation thereof, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordi- nonce shall became effective immediately upon its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
