AN ORDINANCE .CONCERNING ASSAUZT AND BATTERY;
AMENDING SECTION 4.730 OF THE EUGENE CODE,
1971; AND DECZARING AN EMERGENCY.
THE CITY OF EUGENE DQES 4RDAZN AS FOZLOWS:
Section 1. Section 4.730 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is hereby
amended to read and provide:
4.730 Assault and Batter .
~1~ Battery. No person shall intentionally, knowingly,
or recklessly use any force upon another.
~2~ Assault. No person shall intentionally, knowingly,
or recklessly plane or attempt to place another person in fear
of an imminent battery as defined in subsection ~1~ above.
Section 2. That the provisions contained herein concern the
public welfare and safety and therefore, an emergency is hereby de-
Glared to exist, and this Ordinance shall become effective immedi-
ately upon its passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
