AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING INTEREST RATES; AMENDING
SECTION 2.022 OF THE EUGENE CODE, 1971; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 2.022 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is hereby
amended to read and provide:
2.022 Interest Rates. Except as provided in section 2.023
and for assessments deferred under section 7.205, and
notwithstanding any provision in this code to the contrary,
the interest rate per annum on all amounts due the city shall
be established by administrative order of the city manager or
his designee within the maximum authorised by law, if appli-
cable.
Section 2. That the matters contained herein concern the public
welfare and therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and
this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage
by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
