AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE BUDGET; ~~AKING APPRO-
PRIATIONS; DETERMINING AND LEVYING THE ANNUAL
TAB FOR THE CITY OF EUGENE F4R THEM=FISCAL YEAR
BEGINNING JULY 1, 1979 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 19SD;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FQI~LOwS:
Section 1. That the budget for the City of Eugene, Oregon, for
the year commencing July 1, l9?9 and ending June 30, 1950, as set
forth in Section 2 below be, and the same is hereby adopted.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Eugene, Oregon,
makes appropriations for the purposes shown as follows:

Section 3. That a total levy of $16,243,991 be made against all
taxable property within the City of Eugene in general, for the pur-

pose of deriving funds necessary to carxy on the different programs,
and to meet the expenses of the city r~overnment of the City of Eugene
for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1979 and ending June 34, 198D;
and to create and provide sinking funds and a.nterest funds for the
various outstanding bonds and obligations of the City.
Section 4. That the City Recorder is hereby directed to certify
the levies as herein made and set forth to the County Clerk and
County Assessor of Zane County, OxegQn, and the Department of Revenue
in Salem, Oregon, and shall file with them a copy of the budget as
finally adopted.
Section 5. That the annual levy of taxes for the C.~ty of Eugene
for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1979 and ending June 34, 198,
is required by law to be made by the City Council and certified to
the County officers of Lane County, Oregon, before the time far com-
pleting the tax rolls, so that the tax rolls may be extended and the
taxes therein collected at the tune that other taxes are callected.
That the levy must be made and completed and in the hands of the
County officers immediately, and apt is necessary for the peace, health
and safety of the City of Eugene that the levy be placed in the hands
of the County Assessor without delay. Therefore, an emergency is
hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall take effect and be
in full force from and after its passage by the City Council and
approval by the Mayor.
