THE CITY COUNCIL DF THE CITY OF EUGENE FINDS THAT: Pursuant to the provisions of ORS ~27.ZI5 and Section 8.SI3 through 8.845 of the Eugene Code, 1911, the City Council has the authority and responsibility, subject to the li~itatians contained therein, to change the sign district classifications of property within the City of Eugene; Based upan~ the report of the Planning Commission, the materi a1 s trans- muted therewith, and the evidence. presented before the Planning Commi ssi an and ~~ this Counci ~ , the request for sign district change of classification i s i n conformance with the intent and purpose of the Sign Cade as required by Section S.83O of ,the Eugene Code, ~97I. NOW, THEREFORE, Based upon the foregoing, the City Council hereby adopts as its own the specific affirmative findings contained i n the Planning Department Staff Notes cf June 5, X979, and the Planning Commission minutes of June 5,..1979, for the reasons set forth herein, and ~ ~ . THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section ~. The Planning Director be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to cause the sign district map and the schedule of sign district classification changes attached to Chapter 9 of the Eugene Code, 1971, to show the foregoing change of classification of area and to note thereon the rule with respect to building i n the appropriate classification.
