AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE C~~ANGE of NAME. OF
WILSON STREET To WILSON DRIVE, LOCATED FROM WEST
23RD AVENUE SOUTH TO HIGHLAND OAKS DRIVE; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that:
It is the policy of the City to avoid confusion with respect to
the names of streets within the City.
Wilson Street, in the area located from West 23rd Avenue South
to Highland Oaks Drive is actually a continuation of Wilson Drive,
and the similarity of the names has created substantial confusion.
The property owners on ~lilson Street have requested that the
name of the street be changed to Wilson Dri~ue. No opposition to the
change of the name of the street has been received.
Notice of a public hearing to be held on the l5th day of August,
1979, at the Council Chambers, City Hall, Eugene,oregon at 12:44
o'clock noon of said day, was duly published in the Eugene Register
Guard, a newspaper of general circulation within the City, at least
once during the week immediately preceding the hearing.
NOS, THEREFORE,
THE CITY of EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The name and desa.gnation of ~~'ilson Street, located
from West 23rd Avenue South to Highland oaks Drive is hereby changed
to Wilson Drive.
Section 2. The City Manager shall cause appropra.ate signs to
be installed indicating that Wilson Street as described in Section
1 of this ordinance is now Wilson Driye~

Section 3. That certified copies of this ordinance shall be
filed with the Lane County Clerk, Vane County Assessor, and the Lane
County Surveyor.
Section 4. That the matters contained herein concern the public
welfare and therefore, an en~e~gency is hereby dec~,ared to exist, and
this Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage
by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
