AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING SKATEBOARDS AND ROLLER--
SKATES; AMENDING SECTION 5.565 OF THE EUGENE
CODE, 1971; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
THE CITY aF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS.
Section 1. Section 5.565 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is hereby
amended by renumbering the present s~.bsecti,on ~ 2 } to ~ 4 } , and adding
a new subsection (2) and (3) thereto, to provide:
5.565 vehicles in Mall - prohibited.
~l} No person shall ride a bicycle in the Eugene Pedes-
trian Mall.
~2} No person shall ride or use a skateboard in the
Eugene Pedestrian Mall.
~3} No person shall ride or use rollerskates in the
Eugene Pedestrian Mall.
~4} Except for vehicles of the fire department, police
department, and .maintenance operations of the city, no person
shall operate a motor vehicle within the Eugene Pedestrian Mall
without having obtained a permit from the,city engineer as pro-
vided in this chapter.
Section 2. That the provisions contained herein concern the
public welfare and safety and therefore, an emergency is hereby de-
Glared to exist, and this ordinance shall became effective immedi
ately upon its passage by the City Council, and approval by the Mayor.
