HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 18539SDBC (Z 79-29) ORDINANCE N0. ~~~ AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING SIGN DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION AND AMENDING THE SIGN DISTRICT MAP OF THE CITY OF EUGENE, OREGON THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE .CITY OF EUGENE FINDS THAT: Pursuant to the provisions of ORS 227.215 and Section 8.813 through 8.845 of the Eugene Code, 1971, the City Council has the authority and responsibility, subject to the 1 imi tations cantai ned therein, to change the sign district classi- fications of property within the City of Eugene; Based upon the report of the Planning Commission, the materials transmitted therewith, and the evidence presented before the Planning Commission and this Council, the request for sign district change of classification is in conformance with the intent and purpose of the Sign Code as required by Section 8.830 of the Eugene Code, 1911, NOW, THEREFORE, Based upon the foregoing, the City Council hereby adopts as its own the specific affirmative findings contained in the. Planning Department staff notes of November 6, 19 79, and the Planning Commission minutes of November 6, 19 19, for the reasons set forth herein, and THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. As provided by Section 8.625 of the Eugene Code, 1971, the sign district map and the sign code schedule of district changes are hereby amended to reflect the following change of sign district: Tax Lot 300--Assessor's Map 17-03-30-3 4, as more particularly described on the attached Exhibit "A" located south of lst Avenue between Lawrence and Lincoln streets. Change of Sign District from Industrial District to Residential District. Section 2. The Planning Director be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to cause the sign district map and the schedule of sign district classi- fication changes attached to Chapter 9 of the Eugene Code, 1971, to show the foregoing change of c 1 assi f icat i on of area and to note thereon the rule with respect to building in the appropriate classif icatian.
