ISSUE STATEMENT
This work session has two parts: 1) a continuation of the vision and goal-setting discussion begun at the
annual Mayor and City Council Retreat on February 6-7, 2009, and followed up at the April 15 and
April 29 work sessions; and 2) an overview and discussion of the proposed public engagement process
to involve the community in the development of Eugene Counts.
CITY MANAGER’S RECOMMENDATION
The City Manager has no recommendation on this item; however, the following outcomes are proposed:

Agree on Eugene Counts framework.
?
Agree on a City Council vision statement and goal areas.
?
Agree on a set of 3-5 measures per goal area to measure success.
?
Agree on Eugene Counts process.
