An Ordina~~ce repealing Ordinance Na. 18555 adopted by the
Council and approved by the Mayor on ~Tanuary 16, 198D, and initiating
the vacation of the foll~w~ing described al~.ey, to-wit:
That portion of~the North-South alley abutting Lots
1, 2, 3, and 4, and that portion of the East-west
Alley abutting Lo-~s 4 and 5, all in Block 16, Eugene
Original Piat as platted and recorded in Book A,
Page 2 of Lane County oregon Plat Records, Lane
County, Oregon.
PROVIDED, howe~rer, that the owners of the above des-
cribed property will provide public utility easements
and will provide the necessary area for movement of
vehicular traffic as required by the City Public works

THE CITY qF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLowS:
Section i. Ordinance No. 18556 adopted by the Council and
approved by the Mayor on ~'anuary 16, 19S.D is hereby repealed, and
the City Council of the City of Eugene herein initiates the vacation
proceedings an its own authority without petition or consent of the
property owners, except as provided by statute, of the above des-
cribed alley.
Section 2. A hearing shall be held upon the proposal to vacate
the alley as herein provided, and the hearing shall be held on the
15th day of October, 198D, at noon, Pacific Daylight Time of said
date, at the Council Chambers at City Hall, Eugene, Oregon, at which
time all persons will be heard upon objections or suggestions with
regard to the vacation, and at said time the Council will provide for
the vacation of the alley or deny such vacation, and in case the
vacation is made, will provide and make provision for any damages
sustained by local assessment.

Section 3. The City Recorder is hereby directed to immediately
publish once. each week fox four consecuti:ire weeks in a newspaper
published in Eugene, Lane County, ~re~on, notice of the proposed
vacation. The notice shall gi~~re a description of the area to be
vacated as herein set out; state the date then this ordinance was
passed, the name of any petitioners petitioning for the vacation,
and the date when the petition, together with any objections or
remonstrances which may be made in ~rriting and filed with the
Recorder of the City of Eugene prior to the date of the hearing,
will be heard and considered.
Section 4. The City Recordea~ shall forthwith and within Five
days after the first publication of the notice post or cause to be
posted, at or near each end of the proposed ~racation a copy of the
foregoing, which shall be headed ~"Not~.ce of Alley Vacation,' and
which notice shall be pasted in at least two conspicuous places in
or on the area proposed to be ~~racated.
The posting and the first day of publication of the notice
shall be not less than twenty-eight ~28~ days before the time set
for hearing.

NOTICE IS HEREBY :GIVEN that at a meeting o~ the City Council
of the City of Eugene, held at the Council Chambers at City Hall,
Eugene, Oregon, on the loth day of Septembers 198Q, there was passed
by the City Council and approved by the Mayor of the City of Eugene,
Lane County, Oregon, an Ordinance setting a h.eari.ng to be held on
the 15th day of October, 198Q, at ~Z:QO noon, Pacif ie Daylight Time,
at the Council Chambers at City Hall, Eugene, Oregon, for the purpose
of hearing remonstrances and protests against the vacation by Ordi-
nance of the City Council of the following:
ALLEY VACATION
That portion of the North-South alley abutting Lots 1, 2,
3, and 4, and that portion of the East-hest Alley abutting
Lots 4 and 5, all in Block 1~6, Eugene Original Plat as
platted and recorded in Book A, Page 2 of Lane County Oregon
Plat Records, Lane County, Oregon.
PROVIDED, however, that the owners of the above described

The City Council will oonsider and act upon the proposed vaca-
tions on the 15th day of Octobers 19SQ, at l2:QQ o'clock noon, Pacific
Daylight Time, at the Council Chambers at City ~3a11, Eugene, Oregon,
and will consider an Ordinance vacating the above. All persons hav-
ing obaections thereto or remonstrances or protests are hereby noti-
fied to present the same to the City Council in writing prior to said
hearing or at said time and place.
