HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 18719ORDINANCE NO. ~~ AN ORDINANCE REDUCING REGIONAL SEWER USER RATES AND CI~ARGES BY A~,~ENDING SECTION 7.4 2 0 OF THE EUGENE CODE, 1971 AS SET FORTH IN SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE N0. l$70$; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FQLLOwS: Section 1. Section 7.420 of the Eugene Code, 1971, as set forth in Section 3 of Ordinance No. l$a4$ adopted by the City Council and approved by the Mayor on September ~Z, 19$0, is hereby amended to read and provide: 7.020 Charges - Established and Levied, ~1~ There is hereby levied and imposed on all sewer users just and equitab~.e monthly rates and charges for sewer service as provided in this chapter. ~~} Residential sewer users monthly charges for city and regional sewer service shall be: Single, dwelling unit Duplex dwelling unit Multiple dwelling unit ~~each~ ~3} All Other sewer users for city and regional sewer servic City Regional Total $1.95 $ 2.30 $4.25 $1.95 $ 2.30 $4.25 $1.65 ~ 1.90 $x.55 monthly rates and charges e shall be: C t~ Regional Total Via} A minimum charge of $1.65 $ 1.90 $3.55 or ~.~ } A rate peer thou- sand gallons of water consumed 0.325 4.3$ 0.7D5 ~4~ All sewer users that discharge wastewater with an average of B.O.D. and suspended solids exceeding SOD milligrams per litre sha11 pay the monthly city and regional rates and charges established in subsections ~.2 ~ and ~.3 } of this section or the suxri of the following, whichever is greater: V [B ~.$0. o5~+~s ~$o. D3~ ] ~.$.3~5x10~6~ ~$D.OOQ745 where V equals the volume in gallons of watewater dis- charged by the user into the sanitary sewerage system dur- ing the month; B equals the average B.O.D. in excess of 204 milli- grams per litre of the discharged wastewater; and Ordinance -- l 18'7/9 s equals the average suspended solids in excess or BOO milligrams per litre of the discharged wastewater. section ~. It is also im- portant that there '~e uniformity througr~out the area a ~~ the charges far such services, and the City o~ Springfield has approved and adopted the same rate schedule prodded fpr herein. ~'herefare, the City Council determines that the pra~risions cpntained herein concern the public health, safety and welfaxe, an emergency is hereby declar- ed to exist, and this Ordinance, includ~,n~ the charges provided far herein shall become immediately effective upon passage by the Council and approval, of the Mayor of this Ordinance.
