'the City Council of the City of Eugene herein ini- tiates the vacation proceedings an its own authority without peti- tian or consent o~ the property owners, except as provided by statute, of the above described street. Section 2. A hearing shall be held upon the proposal to vacate the street as herein provided, and the hearing shall be held on the 2Sth day of January, 1981, at noon Pacific Standard ~'ime of said date, at the Council Chambers at City Hall, Eugene, aregon, at~which time all persons will be heard upon objections ar suggestions with regard to the vacation, and at said time the Council will provide for the vacation of the street or deny such vacation, and in case the vaca- tion is made, will provide and make provision for any damages sus- tained by local, assessment. Section 3. The Ca.ty Recorder is hereby directed to immediately publish once each week for four consecutive weeks in a newspaper pub- lished in Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, nr~tice of the proposed vaca- tion. The notice shall give a description of the area to be vacated as herein set out; state the date when this ordinance was passed, the name of any petitioners petitioning far the vacation, and the date when the petition, together with any objections or remonstrances which may be made in writing and filed with the Recoxder of the City of Ordinance - l 18~3z Eugene prior to the date of the hearing, will ~e heard and considered. Section 4. The City Recorder sha~.l forthwith and within five days after the first publication of the notice post, or cause to be posted, at ar near each end of the proposed vacation a copy of the foregoing, which shall be headed "Notice of Stxeet vacation," and which notice shall be posted in at .east two conspicuous places in or on the area proposed to be ~racated.
