AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING FAEES ~'OR THE CITY
OPERATED SHUTTLE BUS; ADDING SECTION 5.385 TO
THE EUGENE CODE, 1971; AMENDING SECTION 5.990
OF THAT CODE; ESTABLISHING FEBRUARY 1, 1981 AS
THE EFFECTIVE DATE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
THE CITY 4F EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section ~.. There is hereby added to the Eugene Code, 1971, a
new section, to be cumbered end pro~ride:
5.385 Shuttle Bus Fares. No person shall ride the city op-
erated shuttle bus without paying the fare established
herein. The single round-trip fare shall be $0.50 and the
monthly fare shall be $14.00. The fares shall be collected as
directed by the city manager and may be sold on an annual basis
or any part thereof,,
Section 2. Subsection ~4~ of Section 5.990 of the Eugene Code,
1971, is hereby amended to provide:
5.990 Penalties S~,eci~'ic.
~_4~ Violation of sect~;ons 5.285, 5, 385, 5.565, 5.575,
5.580 or 5.585 shall be punishable by a fine nvt exceeding
$25.00.
Sectian 3. That the provsa~ons contained herein concern the
public welfare and s.a~ety, and in order to provide for the orderly
implementation of the provisions hereof, an emergency is hereby de-
clared to exist, and this Ordinance shall become effective on Feb-
ruary 1, 1981.
