HomeMy WebLinkAboutAdmin Order 58-24-05 -- Authorizing Grant Application for Suzanne Arlie ParkADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 58-24-05 of the City Manager AUTHORIZING THE EUGENE PARKS DIVISION MANAGER TO SIGN AND SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR AN OREGON PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT GRANT FOR SUZANNE ARLIE TRAILHEAD AND ACCESS PROJECT. The City Manager of the City of Eugene finds that: A. The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for the Local Government Grant Program. B. The City of Eugene desires to participate in this grant program to the greatest extent possible as a means of providing needed access improvements to a new metropolitan park that will provide outdoor recreational hiking and mountain bike experiences for all Eugene residents. C. The City has identified a high priority need to improve safe and public access to Suzanne Arlie Park. D. The grant-funded project would include access road widening, parking area construction, trailhead development, ¾ mile of trail construction, and associated landscaping, fencing, and trailhead furniture. E. The City of Eugene has available local matching funds to fulfill its share of obligation related to this grant application should the grant funds be awarded. F. The City of Eugene will provide adequate funding for on-going operations and maintenance of Suzanne Arlie Park and Access, should the grant funds be awarded. On the basis of these findings, I order that: Section 1. This administrative order is a demonstration that the City of Eugene officially supports the Parks Division Manager’s submittal of a grant application to the Oregon Park and Recreation Department for trailhead and access improvements to Suzanne Arlie Park.
