Chair Gary Wildish called the Lane Transit District (LTD) Board work session to order. A. JOINT MEETING WITH LANE TRANSIT DISTRICT BOARD: MovingAhead -Corridor Screening Transportation Planning Engineer Chris Henry, Metro/Community Principal Planner Terri Harding, and Lane Transit District Transit Development Planner Sasha Luftig gave a PowerPoint presentation on the MovingAhead screening process and results, corridors, public outreach, decision -making process, and next steps. Council discussion: • Good long-term, inclusive planning effort. • Be proactive in contacting and communicating with the community. • Strong public support for addressing Coburg Road issues, especially for pedestrians. • Support attempts to avoid piecemeal and discrete projects; system wide planning effort preferred. • Need to frame conversation around Vision Zero initiative. • Amore complete, comprehensive transit system is key to economic development and growth in community. • Need to better inform public how important EmX is as a system, not a route -by -route project. • Continued efforts to identify and obtain funding will be needed to accomplish transportation system goals. Mayor Piercy adjourned the City Council work session at 6:30 p.m. Chair Wildish adjourned the Lane Transit District Board work session at 6:30 p.m. Mayor Piercy reconvened the City Council work session at 6:31 p.m. B. COMMITTEE REPORTS AND ITEMS OF INTEREST Council discussion: • In general, newly installed -speed tables are working well. • Work session to address nuisance issues such as marijuana smoke and wild animals needed. • Fairmount Neighbors Association had a meeting about earthquake preparedness. • Under Brenda Wilson's leadership, LCOG has successfully reversed course and is now fiscally stable.
