Councilors Absent: Mike Clark, Claire Syrett
Councilor Zelenka opened the May 15, 2017, meeting of the Eugene City Council and
informed everyone that Mayor Vinis was absent.
1. PUBLIC HEARING
An Ordinance Concerning Utility Service to Support Economic Development in
the Industrial Corridor Community Organization and Amending Section
9.8117 of the Eugene Code, 1971
Councilor Zelenka opened the Public Hearing.
Joshua Mongé ‐ Read Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce statement in support.
Councilor Zelenka closed the Public Hearing.
2. PUBLIC HEARING
An Ordinance Amending the Eugene‐Springfield Metropolitan Area General
Plan Policy H.2 to Clarify Eugene May Adopt Aspirational Park Plans
Councilor Zelenka opened the Public Hearing.
Stefan Strek – Supported new parks in Eugene, but address homeless issues.
Councilor Zelenka closed the Public Hearing.
Council Discussion
Most area homeless are not drug addicts, but people dealing with financial hardships.
The meeting adjourned at 7:42 p.m.
