Councilors Present: Betty Taylor, Emily Semple, Mike Clark, Greg Evans, Chris Pryor,
Claire Syrett, Jennifer Yeh, Alan Zelenka (via phone)
Councilor Taylor opened the September 16, 2019, public hearing of the Eugene City Council
in Mayor Vinis' absence.
1. PUBLIC HEARING: An Ordinance Concerning Protections for Individuals and
Amending Section 2.497 of the Eugene Code, 1971.
Speakers
1. Michael Gannon - expressed Frustration about communication systems.
Council Discussion:
o Councilor Syrett - asked why a motion was not included in the materials for the
public hearing, noting that she was interested in taking immediate action on the
ordinance.
MOTION: Councilor Syrett, seconded by Councilor Semple, moved to adopt the
ordinance concerning protections of individuals and amending section 2.497 of
the Eugene Code, 1971.
o Councilor Clark -expressed concern about not having more time to review the
proposed ordinance.
o Coumcilor Syrett - withdrew lter motion.
The meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
