Mayor Vinis opened the February 24, 2018, Eugene City Council Retreat.
1. Opening and Intention for the Day
Mia Ca r iaga facilitated the meeting and councilors shared thoughts and questions during opening
statements.
2. Staff Presentation and Questio~s and Answers
City Manage r Jon Rui z add re ssed the group and referenced handouts, includi ng the Area of Focus
Summary.
3. Outcom es Discussion -Public Safety (small group break-out session)
Councilo rs and members of t he Executive Team broke in to small gro ups to discuss the public
safety priorities. The group reconvened and each small group reported back.
4. Outcom es Discuss ion -Housin g (small group break-o ut session)
Councilors and members of th e Executive Team broke into small groups t o discuss housing
priorities. Each group reported back to the large group .
5. Outcomes Discuss ion -Hom e l essness (sm all group break-ou t session)
Councilors and members of th e Executive Team bro ke into small gro up s to discuss homelessness
priorities. Each group reported back to the large group .
6. Closing
City Manager Jon Ruiz ta lked about next steps and brought th e meeting to a close.
