ISSUE STATEMENT
The Police Auditor will discuss numerous items related to the activities of the Office of the Police
Auditor including its responsibilities in cases and its interactions with the Civilian Review Board.
BACKGROUND
The Office of the Police Auditor was established to provide an independent location to lodge complaints
involving police employees, monitor internal investigations to ensure objective, thorough and high
quality investigations, and develop recommendations to improve police services.
RELATED CITY POLICIES
Ballot Measure 20-146 (November 4, 2008; Eugene Charter Chapter IV, Section 15-A; and Sections
2.450, 2.452, 2.454, and 2.456 of the Eugene Code, 1971; and Council Ordinance Numbers 20374 and
20435.
COUNCIL OPTIONS
Provide feedback to the Police Auditor on council deliverables and performance issues.
