Recreation is offering special one-day, try-for-free opportunities for several exercise, yoga, mixed-media painting, and Spanish language classes the first week of January. Those interested can attend for free, meet the instructors and determine if the class is for them. To make trying these classes as convenient as possible, two of the yoga and one of the mixed-media, try-for-free classes are being held at the downtown Eugene Public Library. While the classes are free, pre-registration for each is required. On Sunday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m., the downtown Library will hold a hands-on computer class titled “Intro to eBooks.” Several brands of eReaders will be on hand to compare, or bring your own (not required). Additional computer classes now accepting sign-ups include “Store & Share Digital Photos” on Saturday, Jan. 15, Jan. 29, or Feb. 19, at 10 a.m., and “Genealogy” on Thursday, Jan. 20, or Feb. 24, at 10 a.m. For beginners, the Library will offer “Intro to Computers” on Sunday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m., and “Intro to the Internet” on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m. EUGENE CITY COUNCIL NEWSLETTER PAGE 1 December 23, 2010 Computer classes are free, but due to limited space, pre-registration is required.
