Waterfest gives people with physical disabilities, ages eight and older, the opportunity to try adapted waterskiing, kayaking, and sailing. It will be held on July 20, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., at the Eugene Yacht Club on Fern Ridge Reservoir. The cost is $25. Pre-register online at www.eugene-or.gov/recenroll and use barcode 99220 or register the day of the event on-site for $35. For more information, call Patty Prather at 541-682-5311. Teen Summer Reading at Eugene Public Library The free Teen Summer Reading Program at the Eugene Public Library helps local middle and high school students keep their reading skills up while school’s out. Summer Reading is a great way to learn new things, make new friends, and have fun. Teens can visit any Eugene Public Library location – Downtown, Sheldon, or Bethel - to sign up and pick up a calendar of free events. At sign-up, each teen gets to choose a free book courtesy of the Friends of the Library. Teens can also enter a free raffle for gift certificates by writing book reviews at the Library website. The summer is filled with activities for teens at all Library locations, including hands-on art and writing workshops, movies, gaming, and a talent show. Teens can even meet Anna Sheehan, author of the young adult novel, “A Long, Long Sleep,” in person, on Wednesday, July 25, 2 p.m., at the Downtown Library.
