COUNCILORS PRESENT: George Brown, Mike Clark, Chris Pryor, Claire Syrett, Betty Taylor.
Councilors Zelenka and Poling via conference phone.
Her Honor, Mayor Piercy called the January 7, 2013, meeting of the Eugene City Council to order.
A. Appointment of Interim Ward 6 City Councilor
Councilors expressed that both candidates were qualified, experienced, and both have a wealth of
skills and assets to contribute to the council. Several councilors urged the candidate not chosen for
this opportunity to become involved with the Budget Committee and /or to run for the Ward 6 seat
in May.
MOTION: Councilor Brown, seconded by Councilor Taylor, moved to appoint Tony Brandt to
replace Pat Farr.
Councilor Clark, seconded by Councilor Poling, moved to substitute Greg Evans. PASSED, 7:0.
VOTE ON SUBSTITUTE MOTION: PASSED 7:0
The work session adjourned at 12:12 pm.
