BACKGROUND The use of alternative fuels is just a part of the organization’s program to address carbon foot print reduction. In addition, ongoing efforts to implement technological advancements and operational efficiencies for the City-owned fleet of vehicles and equipment has also played a significant role in this effort. RELATED CITY POLICIES Fleet and Radio Communication Services Policy and Procedures manual-Vehicle replacement policy 4.6.4 Sustainability: The purchase of alternative fuel vehicles and other environmentally sensitive technologies which are economically feasible at the time of a vehicle’s replacement will be included in the decision process when replacing vehicles and equipment.
