Subject: Scrivener Error Correction EC 2.994(4) / Ordinance No. 20405
Memorandum
It has come to our attention that a reference error exists in Ordinance No. 20405 that adopted
amendments to EC 2.994 on March 10, 2008.
EC 2.994(4) contains a reference to EC 2.966(1), however, the Code section reference should
have been to 2.996(1). Please effect a scrivener error correction to EC 2.994(4) to correct the
reference as shown in legislative format below:
2.994 Elections — Voters' Pamphlet - Contents
(4) The order in which the arguments related to a city measure are printed in the
voters' pamphlet shall be as follows: first, the written argument in favor of the city
measure, as described in subsection 2.996(1); second, the rebuttal to the
argument in favor, as described in subsection [29660]2.996(1); third, the
written argument in opposition to the measure, as described in subsection
2.996(1); fourth, the rebuttal to the argument in opposition, as described in
subsection 2.996(1); fifth, any additional arguments in favor of the city measure,
as described in subsection 2.996(4), in the order in which they are received by
the city recorder; and finally, any additional arguments in opposition to the
measure, as described in subsection 2.996(4), in the order in which they are
received by the city recorder.
This correction is authorized by Section 17 of Ordinance No. 20405, and a copy of this memo
should be attached to that Ordinance.
