ISSUE STATEMENT
This is a work session item to review the Health and Benefits Fund (Fund 623). No action is requested.
BACKGROUND
The Health and Benefits Fund (Fund 623) is the internal service fund that accounts for the City's health
insurance programs and employee benefits administration. All departments pay health rates to the
Health & Benefits Fund each pay period. The Budget Committee periodically reviews the Health &
Benefits Fund as part of the budget process. The purpose of this presentation is to provide the City
Council with an update on the Health & Benefits Fund, review the fund history and discuss issues facing
the fund.
