Said matter was referred to the Street 80mmitt e. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />A petition was received from C A Wintermeier, as attorney for Wm A Taylor, <br />asking two certain city liens against Lot 2, Block 6, Hendl'icks Addition, be <br />cancelled, he claiming the city failed to redeem from a tax foreclosure instituted <br />by Lane Coun.tY'Jam the liens thereby being null and void. Said matter was referreEl <br />to the City Attorney. <br /> <br />The Meat Inspector's report was read and filed. <br /> <br />The matter of meat licenses was discussed, it being shown several suburban <br />stores sell sliced meats purchased from inspected meat markElts only, it being <br />questioned whether or not, such stores should be required to pay the $10.00 licens <br />fee ~ Councilman Rugh moved such stores sE;}lling meats so pUl~chased and having no <br />blocks be required to pay a $2.00 per year license fee\. No second to such motion <br />was had and the matter held over till the next meeting. <br /> <br />A petition was received to pave the alleys between 12th and 13th Avenues and <br />between Oak and Pearl Streets. The Street Gommittee recowroended such petition be <br />granted and such recommendation was adopted. <br /> <br />Bids were received in writing from Bray Bros., Geo. Parsons, Herbert M Elliot <br />and Yoder Bbos. for a garbage franchise and such bids were read and fully discu.sse <br />by the Council and others persent. The Health Committ~e movEld a franchise for <br />such purpose be let to one firm only. The roll was called, all present voting aye, <br />except Large and Lamb, who voted no.. The motion was declared carried.
