The Urdlnance was declared passed and numbered 8361. ~ <br />.'~ <br />7:,;, <br />An ordinance to prevent disturbances interfering with the hours of rest <br />between ten o,"'clocl<: P.M. and six o'clock A.M., in the City of Eugene, was read <br />the first time and laid over. <br /> <br />Councilman Hendershott stated that Stacy and Don Cummings had asked him to <br />request permission of the Council to cut down two dead trees in the City Park for <br />the use of the wood, but that on inquiry it was found that Hr. LeVan expented to <br />cut these trees and use the wood for City purposes. <br /> <br />Councilman Zumwalt requested permission to use a lot at 12th and llonroe <br />Streets, belongil~ to the City, for a wood lot, and a motion was made, seconded <br />and carried that the City lease the same to him for $1.00 per year provided that <br />. same should be vacated at any time the City might desire, on 30 days notice. <br /> <br />Mayor Large replrted that he and l.Ir. Clubb had attended the Governor's <br />meeting in Portland, as directed JY the Council, and heard the discussion of the <br />Sewaee Disposal p.roblem, and that the meeting had gone on record as approving <br />the purification of the Willamette River, and Mr. Clubb generally discussed the <br />SUbject of a Sewage di sposal plant 'for the Ci ty of Eugene, after which he was <br />instructed to procure for the Council copies of reports available in Corvallis; <br />and the consideration of the steps to be taken by the City of Butene was referred <br />to the Sewer Committee. <br /> <br />IvIayor Large named the followin{-:; members to serve vvi th the Council as the <br />annual Budget Committee: FralU( McAlister, E. G. Boehnke, Lynn S. McCready, A. L. <br />Lomax, Rev. Clay E. Palmer, E. O. Potter, D. W. James, and 1Irs. Thomas Wells. <br />Motion was made, seconded and carried to confirm the appointments. <br /> <br />Mayor Large also appointed Dr. J. L. Hesse as a member of the City Health <br />Borad,' to succeed Dr. Harris ,resigned. This motion was al so confirmed by the <br />Council. <br /> <br />I The resignation of Mrs. Hesse from the Health Boa.t'd was read and the Council <br />unanimously expressed their desire to continue her on the board until the close <br />of the present year. <br /> <br />On motion the Council. adjourned. <br /> <br />R.
