M. on <br /> Monday, August 13th, 1934, at which time and place all persons interested will <br /> be heard upon the ~uestion as to whether or not the buildings located at 526 <br /> I Willamette Street in Eugene, Oregon, are dangerous under the provisions of <br /> Ordinance No. 8292, and as a part of said hearing the Common Council itself shall <br /> inspect said building and such inspection shall be considered by it in determining <br /> whether or not said buildings are dangerous. . <br /> I Be it further Resolved that the City Recorder be and he is hereby directed <br /> I to forthwith mail to N. R. Gaylord and Laura M. Gaylord, at 494 lOth Avenue West, <br /> , <br /> I owne~s of said p~ope~ty, notice of the time and piace and purpose of said hearing, <br /> and to mail to F. L. Chambers, mortgagee, notice of the time, place and purpose <br /> I of said hea~ing, and that at said time and piace this Council shall dete~mineby <br /> II Resolution whether or not said buildings are dangerous. In addi tion thereto, the <br /> 1\, Ci ty Recordel~ shall gi ve ten days notice of such hearing in the Morning News, a <br /> newspaper published in Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, and by posting notices thereof <br /> in three public places in said City of Eugene. I <br /> I --- <br /> I Councilman Hendershott re~uested the Recorder write Salem Officials ,for <br /> copies of any ordinances regulating communist movements. <br /> Mayor Large reported that the State Highway is giving favorable consideratio <br /> to the resurfacing of Broadway and Sixth Avenue. , <br /> 0 <br /> Motion was made and carried authorizing Finance Committee and Recorder to <br /> refurnish the new Council room. <br /> The matter of ~idening the Millrace at the Anchorage was left in the hands <br /> of the Mayor and Engineer. <br /> The following Resoluticn offered and on motion adopted: <br /> RESOLUTION . <br /> Vlhe re as , Catherine Zumwalt, who was the wife of City Councilman, Edgar W. <br /> , <br /> Zumwal t , died on the twelfth day of July, 1934, and <br /> I :;'lhereas, Mrs. Zumwalt was for many years a resident of this comrr~nity, <br /> ! <br /> and was loved and respected by those who knew her, as a woman of outstanding <br /> citizenship and Christian character, <br /> Now, Therefore, be it RESOLVED, that we mourn the loss of a good citizen, . <br /> and that we extend to the bereaved husband and other surviving memeers of her <br /> family the profound sumpathy of the Mayor and Councilmen and Officials of the I <br /> City 'of Eugene in this hour of their great bereavement. <br />I <br /> That this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting, and a <br />I <br />I copy be forwarded to the members of the family of the dep~rted. <br /> I --- <br /> On motion the Council adjourned/ . <br />~il <br />
