I <br /> ;..!':~ u' <br /> (d' Minutes of the regular meeting of the Common Council held at the hour of <br /> :~ - 7:30 olclock P. M., December 9, 1935. Council was called to order by Mayor <br /> Large, with all Councilmen present except Reid. <br /> Minutes of the Special meeting of November 8th, the regular meeting of <br /> November 12th, and the adjourned meeting of November 25th, 1935 were read and <br /> approved. <br /> Mr. Himber asked permission for setting off a bicycle zone, in which would <br /> be placed a bicycle stand in front of his place of business on Wi11amette Street <br /> between 7th and 8th. Councilman Simon moved that this request be granted. <br /> Motion was seconded and carried. <br /> I The Judiciary Committee, by Councilman Harris, reported on the Robinson . <br /> claim for damages, and stated that it was in the hands of Fred E. Smith, Attorney, <br /> -I and moved that this be referred to the City Attorney with power to act. The <br /> motion was seconded and carried. <br /> At this time Councilman Reid ~peared in Council. <br /> Councilman Harris, reported on the Airport situation and suggested that no <br /> bids be opened at this meeting, and that they readvertise for the same to be <br /> opened on January 13, 1936. He also asked that the different representatives <br /> present be heard at this meeting. Mr. Smi th, of the Private Flyers Association, <br /> addressed the Council and stated that instead of him personally giving the Council <br /> their proposition there was a communicatimn in the hands of the Recorder as to <br /> how they felt about the situation. 'Ehe communication was .then read by the <br /> Recorder. ~iIr . Sanders of the Hobi Airways addressed the Council, stating that he <br /> I felt that the Private Flyers Association and Hobi Airways should get together and <br /> I definitely determine on what terms the airport could be best run. It was then <br /> suggested that the Airport should be under the control and management of the Park I <br /> 'I Board. Councilman Carlson suggested that this ordinance be lived up to. Council- <br /> man Simon then moved that this question be held over until January 13, 1936 <br /> I meeting and that new bids be called for. Motion was seconded and carried. <br /> The Finance Committee, by Chairman Hendershott, presented the following bills <br /> to the Council with a recommendation that they be allowed.
