Councilman Bond pointed out that in regard to II ,,; the Chief's investigation of the Pierce Machine Shop nuisance that he had been in La1 there himself and it was his belief that Mr. Pierce had provided the necessary ,. ..... ~: shields and the nuisance no longer existed~ :._w ~~. Monthly reports were presented from the Police, Fire and Engineer Depart- ment together with the Eugene Public Library monthly report and statement concern- l~ ing repairs allowance and insurance fund and the same were ordered filed. The Recorder presented a statement from Mr. G. M. Calkins, City Attorney, to the effect that he had paid Mrs. Pollie Wilson in full of her $500.00 claim by the payment of it34.00. It was moved and seconded that a warrant be drawn for the 18 payment of this surn to Mr. Calkins. The ayes and nays were called, councilmen voting aye, six, nay, none, absent Simon and Harris. B~d was opened for the repair of the bear ~age as provided for in an ad- vertisement. One. bid only be ing had for the sum of $683.30. Counc i IIllan Carlson of 19 the Park Board moved the bid be denied due to the fact it was in excess of the amount of money available for that ~ork. It was seconded and so ordered. F. G. Walters and Sadie D. Walters having tendered to the city a deed for the following described real estate: Lot 3, and the East 15 feet of Lot 4, Block,l, 20 Re-plat of College Hill Park according to the Plat thereof on file and of record in the office of the County Clerk of Lane County, Oregon, thereupon the following resolution was unanimously adopted by the common council to-wit: RESOLUTION RESOLUTION Be it Resolved by the Common Council of the City of Eugene that in Consideration of F. C. ~alters and Sadie D. Walters deeding said property to the City of Eugene, absolutely and unqualifiedly, that the City of Eugene hereby directs the City Recorder and Mayor to enter into an agreement of option with the said F. C. ~alters and Sadie D. Walters with regard to Lot 3, and the East 15 feet of Lot 4, Plock 1, Re-Plat of College Hill Park according to the Plat thereof on file and of record in the office of the County Clerk of Lane County, Oregon. granting them until June 1, 1937, the right to purchase said property at the price set opposite the same in the contract of option, together with interest thereon from this date until said option is exercised, and in case said option is not exercised before June 8, 1937, said I II II Netta Kress Pennington having tendered to the city a deed for the fol- lowing desc~ibed property: Lot 4, Block 3, Shaw's Second Addition to Eugene, Lane i County, Oregon, thereupon the following resolution was unanimously adopted by the II Cornmon council to-wit: j :1 option shall terminate and all rights of said F. C. ~alters and Sadie D. V!alters shall be lost. RESOLUTION REEJOLUTION Be It Resolved by the Common Council of the City of Eugene that in con- sideration of Netta Kress Pennington deeding certain property to the City of Eugene, absolutely and unqualifiedly, and in consideration of the payment to the City of Eugene by the said Netta Kress Pennington of the sum of ~:24 .00, the Ci ty of Eue;ene hereby directs the City Recorder and Mayor to enter into an agreement of lease and option with the said Netta Kress Pennington with regard to Lot ,4, Block 3, Shaw's Second Addition to Eugene, Lane\...
