I <br />.:t~ <br />'{~ Resolution submitting to the electors of the city the proposal of. <br /> amending the Charter of the City of Eugene making the term of office of City Re- <br /> corder and Treasurer, each four years, was presented and upon motion made, seconde , <br />./ and duly carried, unanimously adopted: <br /> RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of I <br /> Eugene, Oregon, that there be submitted to the electors of <br /> said city for their approval or rejection, at the general State <br /> and National election held on Tuesday, November 8, 1938, the <br /> anneted Charter Amendment, being ., <br /> AN ACT to amend the charter of the City of Eugene, Oregon <br /> by amending Section 8 of Chapter 2 of the Charter of the <br /> City of Eugene making the term of office of the Recorder <br /> and Treasurer, each, four years and providing that it shall <br /> take effect as to the candidates elected november 8, 1938. <br /> Resolution submitting to the electors of the city the proposal for <br /> contribution by the Eugene Water Board to the City's current expenses in a form to <br />../ be proposed at the meeting, was presented and upon motion made and seconded, <br /> unanimously adopted: <br /> RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR and Common Council of the City of <br /> Eugene, Oregon, that there be submitted to the electors of said <br /> city for their approval or rejection, at the general State and <br /> National election held on Tuesday, November 8, 1938, the annexed <br /> Charter amendment, being, <br /> AN ACT to amend the charter of the City of Eugene, Oregon I <br /> by adding a new chapter thereto turning over the cost and <br /> control of all public service of electricity, and water <br /> facilities in the city of Eugene to the Eugene ~ater Board. <br /> On the proposed transfer of light and water service installation, place <br /> ment and service from the Common Council to the Eugene Water Board, it was under- <br /> stood and agreed that in case a bill were introduced to the state legislature, whic <br /> would return to the city money in any other form than provided in this bill, that <br /> the State action would automatically void this special act. <br /> , <br /> An ordinance calling a special election for submitting to the electors, <br /> etc., was read the first time and passed to its second and third readings by <br /> unanimous consent of the council by title under suspension of the rule, was placed <br /> for final passage. The ayes and nays were called; councilmen voting aye: Lamb, <br /> Hendershott, Reid, Farrington, Bond and Carlson; nay, none; absent, Page and Hanns. <br /> The ordinance was declared passed and numbered 8554. <br /> C.
