Mayor Large asked Councilman Bond if he had purchased any new car radio and if the cost of a two-way radio was prohibitive. D. Allen for sewerage charges at 1660 16- East 17th Street. The matter was referred to the Sewer Committee. Co:rmnunication was presented from the Board of Appeals presenting the reques from Mrs. Alfred Hanson for a peITlli t to convert the house at 1890 Moss Street into I an apartment house. The Board recommends that the request be denied and that the city wreck the house at such time as it is unable tosecure a suitable tenant for the premises in its present condition. Motion was made and seconded unanimously 1'7.7 approving the reco:rmnendation of the Board. Request was received from Donald Husband for client, Mrs. Wyatt, asking for permission to convert the large house at 1108 Jach::son Street into a two family apartment house. The Bc:a I'd recommends that the request be granted on condition that no exterior changes be made to the house. Motion was made and seconded IS; unanimously approving the recommendation of the Board. Request was received from T. A. Williams asking to be allowed to erect an office and display room in connection with his green houses located on the Isouthwest corner of the intersection of Fifteenth Avenue and Walnut Street, said building to be located within ten feet of the property line on Fifteenth Avenue. rhe Board recommends that he be granted a permit to erect the building within fifteen feet of the property line. Motion was made and seconded unanimously approving the recommendation of the Board. After the vote Mr. Williams, who was ~resent, objected to the restriction of a 15 foot setback. Mr. Clubb explained that ~he business was a non-conforming use for the district and that the set back had ~een recommended to keep in line with other residences. It was suggested that Mr. 19- Williams had better drop the matter as he might loose the permit entirely. Referring to the A. L. Williamson request referred at the last council meeting to the Boord of Appeals, the l)oard reported that Mr. Williamson had I hppeared before them and it was now their recommendation that the council refer ~his proposition to the Planning Commission for action at their meeting of December 3. A resolution was presented to refer this matter to the Planning 20~ bommission and unanimously approved. RES 0 L UTI 0 N WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals of the City of Eugene have referred to the City Council an application of A. L. Williamson to have the classification of the following described property changed from a multiple family residence district to a business district and has recommended that the matter be submitted to the City Planning Commission, Now, Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMlv'iON COUNCIL GE' THE CITY OF EUGENE, that there is hereby transmitted to the Planning Comrnission of the City of Eugene a proposal to change the classification of the following described real estate, to-wit: Lot 4, Block 9, Elias Stewart's Addition '.~ . As the apl)licatiol1 had been kpproved by the Chief of Police, motion was made and seconded to grant the 21" icense and it was so ordered. Curb cut applications were presented from Andre'w Holtan';' No. 813; Le 0 J. Chris tens on'; No. 814; and M. E. Henzler, No. 815.
