Councilmen present were Bond, Barette, Koppe, Stewart, <br />1 and Hawn. Absent, Pennington, Farrington and Brownson. <br /> <br />Harvey Hancock and E. S. Moroeny were present representing the United Air <br />Lines. Mr. Hanoock had with him a sample form of contract which the United Air <br />Lines were using at other places. He explained that this contract was subject to <br />such changes as the City of Eugene might desire. He read the contract paragraph <br />by paragraph and asked the councilmen present to aroke any suggestions and ask any <br />questions they desired. After Mr. Hancock had finished reading the contract there <br />was some discussion. A motion was made by Bond and seconded by Hawn that the <br />Mayor and Recorder be authorizied to enter into a contract with the United Air <br />2 Lines after a contract had been drawn up and approved by the City Attorney. <br /> <br />There being no further business, the <br /> <br />1 ' <br /> <br /> <br />* * * ** * * * <br /> <br />Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon <br />September 22, 1941 . <br /> <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of the Common Council held Monday <br />1 evening, September 22, 1941 at 7:30. . All councilmen were present. <br /> <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved and the meeting <br />2 herewith called to order by Mayor Large. <br /> <br />The Mayor called for anyone present wi~ling to address the Council and <br />there being none, he asked for committee reports. Judiciary Committee had no <br />3 .report. ' <br /> <br />Councilman Farrington, chairman of the Finance Committee, upon presentation <br />of the property offers, stated they were making one refund at this time, qut that <br />in the future no refudns would be made on property offers unless the parties <br />4 were going into some branch of the army. <br /> <br />1 A request for an adjustment by M. Schroeder on purchase of Lot 4, Block 3, <br />Rees Addition was denied by the Finance Committee. The purchase price was $275.00 , <br />for 66.8 feet and measurement showed the property to be 60 feet. The Finance <br />Committee recommended the present ~ot be held for the original figure. Upon motion <br />5 made and seconded this recommendation was adopted by the council. <br /> <br />The offer of B. R. Andrus of $300.00, $60.00 cash and the balance at $8.00 <br />or mOre per month plus interest at 6% for Lot 4, Block 1, Zimmer's Addition, was <br />accepted by the Finance Committee and the Council if construction is started within <br />I' 6 ninety day s. <br /> <br />The request of H. E. Cully for client, for refund of $50.00 deposit, made <br />for the teact of land 50' x 155', 50 feet East of the Southeast corner of Broadway <br />and Taylor, was reduced to $35.00 by the Finance Committee beoause of the e7pense <br />the City had already gone to toward the purchase of this property. Upon motion <br />7 made and seconded this reduction of the Finance Committee was adopted by the council <br /> <br />The offer of the Sam Rugh Realty Company for Vern Minkler Of $375.00 <br />$75.00 cash and $7.50 per month plus interest at 6% for Lot 8, Block 6, Cahmbers <br />8 Addition was accepted by the Finance Committee and the Council. <br /> <br /> <br />~ <br />
