S. Newland and <br />also a curb cut at 1434 ~ast 22nd avenue for Frank Scratek, was reported by <br />the Engineer with his recommendation that they be granted. A motion'was <br />made, seconded and carried that the recommendation be adopted. <br /> <br />The General Petrolewm Corporation had made an assignment of the gasoline <br />contract with the City for the year 1944 to R. R. Angst, and a motion was made, <br />seconded and carried that the Recorder be authorized to sign the City's consent <br />of this transfer. <br /> <br />An Ordinance granting to the Southern Pacific Company, a renewal of a <br />franchise for a spur track across 4th street, between Lincoln and 'Washington, <br />had its first reading and was laid over. The date of April 24th was set as <br />a time for a public hearing on the proposed franchise and the Recorder was <br />instructed to publich the necessary notice of this hearing. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />A request by L. P. Curtsinger for a refund of $1.00 paid for a curb-cut <br />ct third and Van Burne was re~d. Mr. Curtsigned explained that owing to a <br />change of plans, the curb cut woulG not be made. A motion was made, seconded <br />and carried that the $1.00 be refunded to Mr. CurtSinger. <br /> <br />A resolution authorizing transfer of *1740.04 from the Plywood Sewer <br />fund to the G;eneral Fund and payment of the Plywood Company, the sum of <br />~325.99 was read at this tinle on motion made, seconded, and carried, the <br />resolution was adopted. <br />EESOLUrrION: <br /> <br />Whereas heretofore the City of Eugene and the Eugene Plywood <br />Plant enteredtnt.o an agreement under the terms of which, a sewer <br />was constructed on second avenue west from the City Limits to <br />Garfield Street. It was agreed that the Plywood Plant was to <br />furnish all necessary material for the construction of the sewer <br />and the City was to assess costs to the abutting property and <br />of the first moneys collected the City was to receive their <br />expenses and when paid, the remainderof the money was to be P?1d <br />to the Plywood Plant to cover their material. <br /> <br />This work has started September 1940 and Completed in May <br />of 1941. <br /> <br />The costs of the work fur.nished by the City - $1750.04 <br />Cost of the Material furnish by Plywood Plant 1129.50 <br />Total Cost - - ~2879.54 <br /> <br />Ordinance # 8682 was passed on July 28, 1941 to assess the <br />costs for the sewer. Up to March 1, 1944 payments have been <br />made un this amounting to $2076.03, and this had been credited <br />in a special fund known as the Plywood Sewer Fund.
