The meeting was called to order by his Honor, Mayor Earl McNutt. <br />Councilmen present at rollcall were: Davis, Crumbaker, Bailey, Allen, Wells and <br />Hanns. Hawn and Johnson absent. <br /> <br />,~::'l"j <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Upon motion the minutes of the last regular meeting held December 22, 1947 <br />were considered read and approved. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />Gasoline bids on the City's gasoline requirements for the calendar year 1948 <br />were opened at 2:00 P.M. January 9, 1948. The City Manager reported the receipt <br />of eight bids, which were scheduled as follows: <br /> <br /> Premium <br />Standard Oil Co. 22.4 <br />General Petroleum Co. 22.4 <br />Richfield Oil Co. 21.4 <br />Shell Oil Co. 22.4 <br />Northwest Oil Co. 21.15 <br />Associated Oil Co. 21.4 <br />Union Oil Co. 22.4 <br />Petro-Lane Oil Co. 20.4 <br /> <br />Non-Premium. <br /> <br />20.9 <br />20.9 <br />19.9 <br />20.9 <br />19.65 <br />19.9 <br />19.9 <br /> <br />19.4 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />All prices bid exclude 1.5~ Federal tax and include 5~ State tax and are <br />discounts from posted tank prices at place and time of delivery. No maximum. <br />prices bid. <br /> <br />It was moved by Davis, seconded by Crumbaker that the bid of Petro-Lane Oil Co. <br />be accepted and that the proper city officers be authorized to enter into a con- <br />tract with Petro-Lane Oil Co" as l.ow bidder. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The City Manager presented for Council consideration the following bids on the <br />paving of the alley running east and west between 3rd and 4th Avenues West from <br />2 Jefferson to Madison, which bids had been publicly opened Friday, January 9, 1948 <br />and scheduled as follows: <br /> <br />C. Riddle <br /> <br />$2884.20 <br />2681.25 <br /> <br />It was moved by Bailey, seconded by Crumbaker that bids be referred back to the <br />City Manager for further investigation and report.
