A report of the City Manager.re: proposed ?dmissions tax ordinance, was submitted and read as follows: 4, ~At the +ast regular meeting of the Council the matter of the proposed admissions tax ordinance was ordered referred to the Finance Committee and the City Attorney. In the meantime, the City Attorney has been availing himself of an opportunity to secure all information on recent amusement tax ordinances in various par~s of the country.and he has since informed me that this material has been obtained and ~s ready for pr~sentation. It has been indicated that it is the desire ,of the Commj..ttee to call together repre~e1;ltatives or the theatre business and other enterprises that might be affected by the proposed tax and I would, therefore, like to suggest to the Com- mittee at this time that such a meeting be held on Thursday evening February 12, City Hall beginning at 8:00 at which time these persons might be heard on the proposed bi+land the ordinal}.ce given final recommendation by the Committee." I W,. <\.,0,' 5 A report of the City Manager re: material on street and road needs to be submitted before 'a hearing of a special legislative committee, :was submitted and read as follows: "The City of Eugene together with other communitie~ and the County governments: of Lane, Benton and Douglas Counties has been requested to submit mat~rial on street and road needs before a hearing of a special legislative 'committee to be , held, in Eugene February 17. Basic information as to construction and maintenance costs for our street system together with plans and.cost estimates for an over-all street widening and extension prog~am is being prepared. I should be pleased to go over this material and maps with any member of the Council and I should also like to request your permission at thil? time that my office be authorized to mak~ such presentation at the co.rnmi ttee hearing." .
