In the meantime, the City Attorney has been availing himself of <br />an opportunity to secure all information on recent amusement tax ordinances in <br />various par~s of the country.and he has since informed me that this material has <br />been obtained and ~s ready for pr~sentation. <br /> <br />It has been indicated that it is the desire ,of the Commj..ttee to call together <br />repre~e1;ltatives or the theatre business and other enterprises that might be <br />affected by the proposed tax and I would, therefore, like to suggest to the Com- <br />mittee at this time that such a meeting be held on Thursday evening February 12, <br />City Hall beginning at 8:00 at which time these persons might be heard on the <br />proposed bi+land the ordinal}.ce given final recommendation by the Committee." <br /> <br />It was moved by Hawn, seconded by'Crumbaker thatCthe report of the Manager be <br />received and placed on file and that a suitable time for a meeting of the com- <br />mittee be arranged. Motion carried. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />W,. <br /><\.,0,' <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />A report of the City Manager re: material on street and road needs to be <br />submitted before 'a hearing of a special legislative committee, :was submitted and <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />"The City of Eugene together with other communitie~ and the County governments: <br />of Lane, Benton and Douglas Counties has been requested to submit mat~rial on <br />street and road needs before a hearing of a special legislative 'committee to be , <br />held, in Eugene February 17. <br /> <br />Basic information as to construction and maintenance costs for our street <br />system together with plans and.cost estimates for an over-all street widening and <br />extension prog~am is being prepared.
