The <br /> ~ Public Works Department having concurred in the proposal, Mrs.Lauris <br /> ~ moved seconded by Mr. Hawk to accept the deed. Street Name Change Brahman Street to Elysium Avenue - With the con- <br /> currence of the developer, Mr. Richard Tone, the Planning Commission <br /> recommended the name of Brahman Street in 2nd Addition to Paradise <br /> Park to be changed to Elysium Avenue, it being pointed out that <br /> Brahman Street is actually acontin~ation of Elysium Avenue. Dr;Purdy <br /> e moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to approve the change of the street <br /> name. Motion carried. <br /> . <br /> 3 5. Airport Industrial Land Development - A sketch was described to the mem- <br /> bers of the Council Committee outlinging a proposal for an industrial <br /> park to be laid out adjacent to Mahlon Sweet Field. The proposal was <br /> presented for discuision by the Council with no action intended to be <br /> I taken. <br /> 4 6. Rezoning to R-2 area at 20th and Patterson, Shield - This rezoning re- <br /> quest had previously been presented to the Council on October 28, 1963 <br /> at which time R-2 rezoning of the area at 20th and Patterson was ap- <br /> proved. At the meeting of November 12, 1963, the item was referred <br /> back to the Committee of the Whole for reconsideration. Dr. Purdy <br /> moved seconded by Mr. Hawk to refer the item back to the Planning Com- <br /> mission for further review and recommendation. Motion carried, <br /> Mr. Swanson voting no. <br /> 5 7. Extension Right-Turn Lane 10th and Willamette - After some discussion <br /> and upon the recommendation of the Public Works Department, Mr.Christen- <br /> sen moved seconded by Mr. Swanson to remove one l-hour meter and space <br /> to extend the right-turn lane on the west side of Willamette Street at <br /> 10th Avenue. Also, that parking be allowed in the loading zone immed- <br /> iately south of the alley between 10th and Broadway entering Willamette , <br /> only until 12 noon, thus restricting parking from 12 -noon to 12 midnight. <br /> Mr. Christensen moved seconded by Mr. Swanson to approve the recommenda- <br /> tion. Motion carried." <br /> Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris that Items 3 through 7 of the Committee report <br /> be approved. Planning Commission Report - October 28, 1963 <br /> e a. Variance from R-4 NE corner 12th and Patterson, Consonant, Inc-:, - <br /> Consonant, Inc., had requested a change of the zone to C-3P or a <br /> variance to allow construction of an 8-story building for medical <br /> and professional offices, also an l8-level parking garage for <br /> tenants of the building with gasoline and otheT automobile service . <br /> located below the grade. ~he Planning Commission recommended ap- <br /> proval of the variance. Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris <br /> to approve the Planning Commission recommendation. Motion carried. <br /> , 7 2. Planning Commission Report - November 5, 1963 <br /> a. Rezoning to C-3P area at Willakenzie and Coburg, Olson - This item <br /> had previously been before the Planning Co~ission and denial was <br /> recommended. The Council on October.28, 1963 referred the request <br /> back to the Planning Commission for consideration of a variance. <br /> Upon referral, the Planning Commission recommended granting a vari- <br /> ance to allow a miniature golf course which would include construc- <br /> I tion of a restaurant and refreshment facility for players. It was <br /> also recommended that the owner dedicate 15 feet of right-of-way <br /> . along Coburg Road and an easement for sidewalk fill on Willakenzie. <br /> Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Chatt: to approve the recommendat ion <br /> and grant the variance with thetwo additional stipulations.
