AGENDA ADJUSTMENT FOR APRIL 27, 1983, COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br />Councilor Obie said that he would be absent from the April 27,1983, council <br />meeting and noted that the Buy Oregon First program was scheduled for council <br />discussion at that meeting. He asked if councilors would be willing to hold <br />over action on this item until a future meeting when he could be present, <br />since he would like to participate in the decision. Councilor Holmer suggested <br />that all discussion of this item be delayed until the May 11, 1983, council <br />meeting. Councilors concurred with this suggestion. <br /> <br />II. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />A. Annexation/Rezoning Request for Property Located West of Terry Street <br />between West 11th Avenue and the Coos Bay Branch of the Southern <br />Pacific Railroad from County ICU Industrial/Commercial Urbanizing <br />District to City of Eugene 1-1 Special Industrial District and Appli- <br />cation of City Industrial Sign District (Cone/Net Investments) <br />(A/Z 83-3) (map, background information distributed) <br />Recommended approval by Planning Commission April 5, 1983 Vote--5:0 <br /> <br />City Manager Micheal Gleason introduced Bill French, Planning Department. <br />Mr. French said that the request involved approximately 200 acres at the southwest <br />corner of West 11th Avenue and Terry Street. He said that the property was <br />primarily flat. Mr. French noted that a portion of the property was developed <br />with an older farm house. He said that the Amazon Channel crossed the northeast <br />corner of the property. Mr. French noted that this parcel was one of the <br />Special Light Industrial Sites identified in the Metropolitan Area General Plan. <br />He said that the property was well within the urban growth boundary. <br /> <br />No ex parte contacts or conflicts of interest were declared by councilors. <br /> <br />Staff notes and minutes were entered into the record. <br /> <br />Public hearing was opened. <br /> <br />MINUTES--Eugene City Council <br /> <br />April 25, 1983 <br /> <br />Page 1 <br />
