<br />e <br /> <br />J. June 9, 1983, Council Meeting on Process <br /> <br />Mayor Keller encouraged all councilors to attend the special meeting on June 9, <br />1983, to discuss process. Responding to a question from Councilor Obie, <br />Mr. Gleason said that the agenda and schedule for the meeting would be decided <br />on by the council at the start of the meeting. <br /> <br />K. Opening of Eugene Hotel Retirement Center <br /> <br />Mayor Keller said he had participated in opening ceremonies for the Eugene Hotel <br />Retirement Center. He felt that the center would be an excellent addition to <br />the downtown core area. He commended the developers for the beautiful job they <br />had done and for developing the center exactly as promised. Mr. Gleason noted <br />that the development of the center was affected at least in part due to the <br />efforts of the council, the Joint Housing Committee, and the Historic Review <br />Board. <br /> <br />L. Farewell to Jack Hamman <br /> <br />Mayor Keller noted that this was the last council meeting to be covered by <br />television reporter Jack Hamann. He expressed appreciation for Mr. Hamann's <br />coverage and wished him good luck in his new position in Seattle. <br /> <br />II. ROUTINE ITEMS FOR COUNCIL APPROVAL <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />A. Approval of City Council Dinner/Work Session Minutes of February 14, <br />1983, Regular City Council minutes of May 9, 1983, and May 11, 1983; <br />Legislative Subcommittee Minutes of May 25, 1983 (minutes distributed) <br /> <br />Ms. Schue moved, seconded by Mr. Obie, to approve the City Council <br />minutes of February 14, 1983, May 9, 1983, May 11, 1983, and the <br />Legislative Subcommittee minutes of May 25, 1983. Roll call vote; <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />B. Call for Public Hearings <br /> <br />1. Street Vacation (Solvang Associates) (SV 81-3) (map distributed) <br /> <br />CB 2645--An ordinance calling a public hearing for July 13, 1983, <br />to consider vacation of a 46-foot radius cul-de-sac on <br />Marshall Avenue and a 12-foot-wide pedestrian/bikeway <br />easement linking the Marshall Avenue cul-de-sac and Jacobs <br />Street. <br /> <br />Ms. Schue moved, seconded by Mr. Obie, that the bill be read <br />the second time by council bill number only, with unanimous <br />consent of the Council, and that enactment be considered at this <br />time.
