He said that his comments will be brief since the council has <br />e already been presented with extensive material and the recommendation of the <br /> Planning Commission. He indicated that the present action presents an unusual <br /> opportunity to both fulfill the objectives of the General Plan, with respect to <br /> commercial allocations in this area, and to resolve the noise problems on the <br /> residential property involved in this request. He stated that he would answer <br /> any of the council.s questions. <br /> There being no further testimony, the public hearing was closed. <br /> CB 2676--An ordinance authorizing rezoning from C-l/PD Neighborhood <br /> Commercial District with Planned Unit Development proce- <br /> dures and R-2/20/PD Limited Multiple-Family Residential <br /> District with 20 units per acre density with Planned Unit <br /> Development procedures to C-2/SR Community Commercial <br /> District with Site Review procedures; and a Sign District <br /> Boundary Change for Tax Lot 1300 from Residential to <br /> Integrated Shopping District. <br /> Ms. Wooten moved, seconded by Mr. Lindberg, that findings support- <br /> ing the rezoning as set forth in Planning Commission staff notes <br /> and minutes of July 19, 1983, be adopted by reference thereto; <br /> that the bill be read the second time by council bill number only, <br /> with unanimous consent of the council; and that enactment be <br /> considered at this time. Property Located at the Southwest Corner of 7th Place and Garfield <br /> Street from 1-2 Light-Medium Industrial District to C-2 Community <br /> Commercial District (Amino, Inc.) (Z 83-7) (map, background <br /> information distributed) <br /> Mr. Gleason introduced the agenda item. Mr. Jacobson, Planning, presented the <br /> staff report, stating that the property presently contains a vacant structure <br /> used previously for commercial purposes. Mr. Jacobson said the surrounding <br /> property consists of 1-2 Light-Medium Industrial District property containing <br /> the American Steel Building to the south, the 7th Avenue right-of-way to the <br /> north, the Lane Transit District garages to the east, and the AAMCO Transmission <br /> shop to the northeast. Mr. Jacobson said the Planning Commission voted unani- <br /> mously on July 19, 1983, to recommend that the City Council rezone the subject <br /> property containing approximately 11,700 square feet. <br /> There were no statements of ex parte contacts or conflicts of interest.
