They concl uded <br /> that they would support Suggested Action 1.1 <br /> D. Growth <br /> Ms. Ehrman objected to the word IIEncouragell in Suggested Action 4.2 on page 8 <br /> e since smaller lot sizes, cottage units, and other available methods to increase <br /> residential density have been permitted in the past. The motion died for lack <br /> of a second. <br /> Mr. Holmer moved, seconded by Mr. Hansen, to use under Policy 6.0 on <br /> page 9 the word lIeliminate" instead of IIreducell(obstacles to the <br /> development process.) Motion failed 3:5. <br /> E. The Environment <br /> Members discussed Suggested Action 2.3 and 2.4 on page 10. Mr. Obie said 2.3 to <br /> IIprohibit the transport of nuclear materials through the City of Eugene...1I was <br /> not a local issue. <br /> Mr. Obie moved, seconded by Mr. Hansen, to remove 2.3 from the <br /> Eugene Community Goals and Policies document. <br /> Ms. Wooten urged the councilors to keep 2.3 because the national laws are weak. <br /> Eugene has no notification of material passing through the City. Ms. Anderson <br /> added that this item was not a close vote at the conference. <br /> Motion failed 3:5. <br /> Mr. Obie moved, seconded by Mr. Holmer, to remove suggested action <br /> 2.4.
