Motion carried 7:1. <br /> Mr. Hansen moved, seconded by Mr Holmer, to remove Suggested Action <br /> 13.4. <br /> Ms. Decker explained how staff was working with the Historic Review Board and <br /> Planning Commission on a reorganization of the preservation program. Mr. Hansen <br /> asked that staff change 13.4 to reflect staff's activities. The Motion was <br /> withdrawn. <br /> G. City Center--no changes were made. <br /> H. Public Safety <br /> Mr. Holmer moved, seconded by Ms. Schue, to delete Suggested Action <br /> 2.5 on page 21.(Require handgun registration). <br /> Mr. Holmer said the City Council did not favor this action and it would be <br /> inconsistent to have it in the document. Ms. Schue did not find that a compelling <br /> It argument. Motion failed 3:5. <br /> Ms. Ehrman moved, seconded by Mr. Hansen to delete the list of <br /> services in Suggested Action 2.6 and in 3.3. Motion carried 7:1. <br /> I. Housing--no changes were made. <br /> J. Transportation <br /> Mr. Hansen moved, seconded by Mr. Holmer, to delete Suggested Action <br /> 5.6 on page 28 (Develop an alley plan which provides pedestrian <br /> amenities.) Motion failed 2:5. <br /> Ms. Decker recommended that Suggested Action 5.5 on page 28 include adding a <br /> shuttle service in downtown. She also recommended deleting Suggested Action <br /> 7.1. All members voted approval of the staff recommendation. <br /> Members agreed to have staff reword Suggested Action 6.3. They agreed with the <br /> idea of aggressively seeking additional funds to upgrade Mahlon Sweet Airport <br /> but did not like 1I...to be completed by 198711. <br /> Mr. Holmer moved, seconded by Mr. Hansen, to change Suggested Action <br /> 8.2 on page 29 to include the words IIwhere feasible implementll <br /> (flexible work schedules for public employees...)
