<br /> M I NUT E S <br /> - Eugene City Council <br /> City Council Chamber <br /> August 15, 1984 <br /> 11:50 a.m. <br /> COUNCILORS PRESENT: Brian Obie, Cynthia Wooten, John Ball (from 12:05 p.m.), <br /> Ruth Bascom, Debra Ehrman, Dick Hansen, Freeman Holmer, <br /> and Emily Schue. <br /> Adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Eugene, Oregon, was <br /> called to order by His Honor Mayor Gus Keller. <br /> I. ITEMS FROM MAYOR & COUNCIL, APPOINTMENTS, ANNOUNCEMENTS, AGENDA ADJUSTMENTS <br /> A. Memorandum Regarding the Portland Public Golf Course <br /> Councilor Hansen hoped that the other councilors had read the memorandum <br /> regarding Portland's municipal golf course and the resulting positive cash <br /> flow. He felt the City was missing the opportunity of an additional resource <br /> for funds by not developing a public golf course. <br /> e B. Announcements <br /> 1. Amended Agenda <br /> Assistant City Manager David Whitlow stated that the council will be operating <br /> under an amended agenda. He stated that Item IV regarding the Downtown <br /> Development District code amendment was a carryover from the August 13, 1984, <br /> meeting. He stated that Items VI (Ordinance for River Road/Santa Clara Sewer <br /> Easements) and VII (Park Willamette Building) had also been added to the <br /> agenda. <br /> 2. Sister City Visitation <br /> Referring to the August 10, 1984, Public Information memorandum to the City <br /> Council, Mr. Whitlow stated that the seventh delegation from Eugene's Sister <br /> City of Kakegawa, Japan, will visit Eugene from August 17 to 20. He said the <br /> City Council was invited to the reception for the delegation at 9 a.m. on <br /> August 20 in the Council Chamber. <br /> 3. Interviews for Downtown Commission <br /> Mr. Whitlow stated that the five interviews for the Downtown Commission <br /> position will begin at 12:25 p.m. in the McNutt Room. <br /> e <br /> MINUTES--Eugene City Council August 15, 1984 Page 1 <br />
