Pat Vallerand, chair of the eIe sub-committee, said seventy copies of
"City Hall, What's In It For You" will be available in the community as
e resource material. They will be placed in central locations in private
schools and in schools in the 4-J and 52 districts. City staff will update
the material periodically.
Mr. Holmer and Ms. Schue expressed appreciation for the work done by the
staff and other citizens on the project. Mayor Keller suggested letters
indicating the Council's appreciation be sent to the involved citizens.
IV. ITEMS FROM MAYOR & COUNCIL, APPOINTMENTS, ANNOUNCEMENTS, AGENDA
ADJUSTMENT
A. Gordon Colemen Bridge
Ms. Bascom said the Gordon Coleman Bridge to the Cuthbert Amphitheater in
Alton Baker Park was dedicated last week in an impressive ceremony. The foot
bridge will make it easier to use the amphitheater. She suggested letters of
appreciation for organizing the ceremony be sent to Eugene Parks and
Recreation Executive Manager Ernest Drapela and Lane County Parks Manager Ron
Hjort. She also suggested a letter of appreciation be sent to Mr. Coleman
who was honored because his citizen involvement is exemplary and typical of
the work of people in the community
B. Council Meet i n9S
Mr. Obie moved, seconded by Ms. Schue, to approve the
e November meeting schedule proposed in a memo from the
City Manager (adding a meeting November 19 and cancelling
the November 24 and 26 meetings). Roll call vote; the
motion carried unanimously, 5:0. Mr. Hansen had left the
the meeting.
Mr. Holmer and Ms. Bascom said they would not be able to attend the
November 21 meeting.
Mr. Obie suggested items scheduled for the council meeting on October 24 be
rescheduled to the October 22 meeting. City Attorney Tim Sercombe voiced
the concern that the council had given notice that it would act on the
proposed amendments to the Metropolitan General Plan on October 24. Because
the action is legislative, perhaps it could be rescheduled. He would inves-
tigate the matter.
Mr. Obie asked that the minutes of the October 8 council meeting be sent
to him so that he could review testimony on the Metro Plan amendments before
the council acts on them.
Mr. Obie suggested the council schedule a dinner meeting in December to
discuss committee assignments.
e
MINUTES--Eugene City Council October 17, 1984 Page 4
