Televising of City Council Meetings <br /> <br />Mayor Obie said the council had previously discussed in its goals session the <br />possibility of televising the council meetings. In response to his request <br />for an update, City Manager Micheal Gleason said the Council Chamber was <br />presently inadequate due to insufficient lighting. He said that staff will <br />present a proposal to the council in the future. Councilor Hansen said that <br />one of the areas involved in cable access was presenting the local government <br />to the public more frequently. He said that televising the council meetings <br />can be performed once cable lines are installed in the facility. <br /> <br />II. ELECTION OF COUNCIL OFFICERS <br /> <br />A. Council President <br /> <br />Ms. Schue moved, seconded by Mr. Holmer, the nomination of <br />Cynthia Wooten as President of the Eugene City Council. Roll <br />call vote; the motion carried unanimously, 8:0. <br /> <br />B. Council Vice President <br /> <br />Mr. Holmer moved, seconded by Ms. Schue, the nomination of <br />Richard Hansen as Vice President of the Eugene City Council. <br />Roll call vote; the motion carried unanimously, 8:0. <br /> <br />III. ROUTINE ITEMS FOR COUNCIL APPROVAL <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />A. City Council Minutes of November 14, November 19, and December 10, <br />1984 (minutes distributed) <br /> <br />Ms. Wooten moved, seconded by Mr. Hansen, to approve the City <br />Council minutes of November 14, November 19, and December 10, <br />1984. Roll call vote; the motion carried unanimously, 8:0. <br /> <br />B. Segregation of Assessment for Property Located on Timberline Drive <br />off Warren Avenue; Applicant: Breeden Brothers, Inc.
