Article in Los Angeles Times <br /> <br />Ms. Ehrman reported that a highlight of her recent trip to Los Angeles was a <br />three-part article in the Los Angeles Times on Steve Prefontaine and the <br />Eugene Police Department. <br /> <br />F. Drug Problem in Community <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen announced that a memorandum had been received from Chief Packard of <br />the Police Department on the methamphetamine problem in this community. <br />Mr. Hansen said the problem seemed severe enough to warrant a draft report on <br />how to shift budget funds for the purpose of intensifying anti-drug efforts. <br /> <br />G. Community Development Committee Appointments <br /> <br />Ms. Wooten requested information on the status of appointments to the new <br />Community Development Committee. <br /> <br />H. Prosecution Costs of Demonstrators <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Ms. Wooten also asked for a forecast on the cost of processing the anti- <br />apartheid demonstrators arrested at the Federal Building on May 1. <br /> <br />I.
